The Dalles Chronicle, April 6, 2006
     Genevieve O. Zimmerman, 90, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home on 
Sunday, March 26, 2006.
     She was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Carlton, the third of seven children to 
Fredrick Gustav and Emma Mabel (Rockafeller) Olson. 
     She grew up in Grand Junction, Color., and graduated from Grand Junction 
High School in 1933.
     She married Robert Victor Zimmerman in Denver, Colo., in 1940. 
     He was career military and they lived many places during their marriage. 
     She moved to The Dalles eight years ago to be near family. She was a 
homemaker and enjoyed crafts.
     She is survived by her children, Billie Linder, The Dalles; Mel 
Zimmerman, Ferndale, Wash.; and Judith McGuire, Colorado; seven grandchildren; 
eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
     Private family services will be held at a later date. Private cremation 
was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby & Powell 
Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
     Remembrances may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The 
Dalles, OR 97058.
