The Dalles Chronicle, November 6, 2003
     Clyde Elroy Jack Younger, 90, a former resident of The Dalles, died at a 
care facility in Hamilton, Mont. on Monday, Nov. 3, 2003.
     He was born Oct. 25, 1913 in Cordell, Okla. to John R. and Eva (Shumaker) 
Younger. 
     He married Vera Estella Griffith on Oct. 15, 1938 in Glenwood Springs, 
Colo. They lived in Colorado until moving to The Dalles in 1977 and then in 
July 1998, they moved to the Bitterroot Valley near Corvallis, Mont. to be 
near family. 
     He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a carman. He was a 
member of the Masonic Lodge No. 55 AF and AM and Masonic Lodge in Grand 
Junction.
     He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Evelyn Louise and Dean 
Bare, Corvallis, Mont.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was 
preceded in death by his wife, Vera in 1999.
     Private entombment will be held at The Dalles Odd Fellows Mausoleum with 
Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
