The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 8, 1987
Bertha Marie Young, 91, died in Marlin, Tex., April 5.  She had been a 
resident of The Dalles for 40 years before moving to Texas in 1983.

Mrs. Young was born Feb. 10, 1896, in Ellis, Tex.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin, who died in 1978.

She is survived by a son, Bob, of The Dalles; two daughters, Aillen Kendrick 
of Marlin, Tex., and Helen Foster of Orovill, Calif.; two sisters, Cora Joseph 
of Salina, Kan., and Betty Wilson of Gardent City, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and 
13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Parklawn Cemetery.  Spencer, Libby and Powell 
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
