The Dalles Chronicle, March 11, 2004
     Josephine Emilene Wright, 76, a resident of The Dalles, died at the local 
hospital Tuesday, March 9, 2004.
     She was born June 23, 1927, in Perry, Iowa, the only child to Franklin 
and Lila Thelma (Menz) Flint. She was raised and graduated high school in 
Perry in 1947. 
     She married William Wayne Wright, a high school classmate on Sept. 23, 
1950, in Perry, Iowa. The couple moved to Pendleton in 1951 where he worked on 
the construction of McNary Dam. In 1954, the couple moved to The Dalles for 
the construction of The Dalles Dam.
     She enjoyed being a homemaker, embroidering, cooking, baking, and all 
outdoor activities including camping and fishing. She loved to have family and 
friends enjoy her meals, especially her husband who will dearly miss her.
     She is survived by her husband, Bill, The Dalles; her daughters, Debbie 
Wright, Portland; and Wendy Struckman, Gresham.
     A celebration of her life will be held at the family’s home on Saturday, 
March 13, 2004 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 2525 West Eighth Street Space #10, The 
Dalles, OR 97058. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory 
with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
     Memorials may be made to Oregon Heart Association, 1425 NE Irving #100, 
Portland, OR 97232-4201.
