Wakley iwakley@msn.com and July 23, 2006, 1:59 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 25, 1987 Adelaide H. Wray, 86, died at the local hospital Sept. 19. Mrs. Wray was born in Valley City, N.D. on Sept. 24, 1900. She was raised there, later graduating from the University of Oregon and moving to The Dalles to teach high school English. She taught until 1930 when she married Addie Wray. They moved to Portland to operate a pharmacy, and returned to The Dalles in 1939 to open Wray’s Drugs, still operated by their son, Doug. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. She is survived by her son, Douglas and his wife Martha of The Dalles; a daughter Jean and her husband Bob Perler of San Juan Island, Wash.; five grandchildren, Steven, Lori and David Wray of The Dalles and Bruce and Douglas Perler of San Juan Island; a sister, Marion Callihan of The Dalles. Graveside funeral services were at the Odd Fellows Cemetery officiated by Rev. Karl Vercouteren. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
