     James “Jim” Scott Woolsey, 57, died on July 30, 2005. 
     He was born March 22, 1948 in The Dalles to Robert Temple and Inez Ethel 
(Cuddeford) Woolsey.
     After his freshman year at Oregon State University, he enlisted in the 
U.S. Navy. He retired as Chief Petty Officer, where he had spent 20 years 
traveling the world.
     After being honorably discharged from the Navy he completed his degree in 
business at O.S.U. with an emphasis on accounting.
     After residing in Corvallis and Albany he moved to Salem in 1989 and went 
to work for the Oregon Department of Revenue as an income tax auditor, where 
he worked an additional 15 years.
     He married Heather Beckett of London, England in 1971. After their 
divorce he was single for many years. He married Peggy Salas on May 25, 2002 
in Salem.
     He was a member of the Keizur Elks Lodge No. 2472; the O.S.U. Beaver 
Athletic Foundation, and the O.S.U. Presidents Club. He enjoyed golfing and 
ballroom dancing.
     Survivors include his wife, Peggy, Salem; a son, Paul and wife, Yauhnet 
Woolsey, Escondido, Calif.; daughter, April and husband, Jorge Alanis, 
Escondido; stepson, Christopher and wife, Michelle Folsom, Salem; 
stepdaughter, Jennene Salas and fiance, Walt Norblad, Eugene; sisters, Robin 
and husband, Spencer Groshone, Albany; and Rita and husband, Steve Ganders, 
Wamic; and five grandchildren.
     A celebration of his life was held on August 3. Memorials may be made to 
either Willamette Valley Hospice or the O.S.U. Beaver Athletic Scholarship 
foundation.
     Arrangements were by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
