The Dalles Weekly Reminder, June 12, 1987
Zipporah Ora Underhill Woods, 79, died June 6 in The Dalles.  She had lived 
here for two years, but had lived in the area most of her life.

Mrs. Underhill was born June 30, 1907, in Boyd, Ore., and graduated from Dufur 
High in 1927.  She later graduated from Benke Walker Business College and 
lived in the Milwaukie area from 1933 to 1964.  She and her husband, Clifford, 
were land developers in the Milwaukie area for many years.  They were married 
in 1946 in Vancouver.  They traveled the world during their retirement, and 
during their travels survived the Guatemalan earthquake in 1976.  She was a 
member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the Dufur Christian Church, the National 
Association of Retired Persons, the Senior Citizens, the Wasco County 
Pioneers.  She enjoyed square dancing, hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford, of The Dalles; three nephews, Martin 
Arthur Underhill and Eugene Underhill, both of Dufur and Edwin Underhill of 
The Dalles; three nieces, Jean Anne Black of Freemont, Calif., Medora Wyatt of 
Philomath, and Mary Silvester of Modesto, Calif.; grand-niece Jean LaVelle 
Underhill of Dufur; several other grand-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at Smith Callaway Chapel officiated by Rev. Asa 
Jensen, and graveside services followed at Parklawn Memorial Cemetery.
