She was born in Durand, Michigan, on August 17, 1902 to Lewis and Lizzie (Lake) Convis. Her family moved to Box Elder, Montana, in 1910 and then to Hoquiam, Washington in 1919. She married Dale I. Wood in 1925 and the couple moved to The Dalles in 1940 where he worked for Inland Navigation as a port engineer. He died in 1966. She was a homemaker, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in The Dalles, and was active for many years in the Sunday school program there. She is survived by her son-in-law Bob and his wife, Jennie Ulrich, The Dalles; and grandchildren Jon Ulrich and Mary Gibson, several great-grand children and three nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Delbert and Ramson Convis and her daughter Beulah Ulrich. Funeral services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1313 Mt. Hood Street, on Friday, October 18, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Randy Johnson presiding. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene at the above address. Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
