He was born April 5, 1944, in Portland, the ninth of 13 children to Lester Earl and Marjorie Belle (Delco) Wilson. He was raised in Grants Pass and The Dalles, served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1964 and after the service, he lived in The Dalles. He worked for Eugene and Viola Branham training race horses and traveled the circuit as a jockey. Later, he worked as an adult care giver in The Dalles and Grants Pass and moved to Wamic in the mid-90’s. He was a member of American Legion and enjoyed sketch artistry, music, dancing, the outdoors and sports. He is survived by three brothers, James A. Wilson and Phillip “Peek” Wilson, both of Grants Pass; John “Duke” Wilson, Salem; three sisters, Linda Woolsey, Dallas; Mary Morton and Angel Bacon, both of Grants Pass. Memorial services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m. with Asa Jenson officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
