Wilson, 85, a resident of The Dalles since 1930, died at a local nursing home Monday. He was born June 21, 1898 in Burns and before moving to The Dalles had been a resident of Wasco. He was a veteran of World War I. He worked for the county as a surveyor for 27 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Arlington Lodge No. 88, AF&AM; the Annie Fulton Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; Gaspar Shrine No. 3; the Old Wasco County Pioneer Association; and was a life member of The Dalles Elks, No. 303. Survivors include a son, Donal L. Wilson, Portland; two grandsons, Kenneth J. Wilson, Yelm, Wash., and Scott Martin Wilson, Beaverton; a granddaughter, Kay D. Wilson, Capistrano, Calif.; and one great-granddaughter. His wife Emmalyn died in 1983. Masonic rites were Wednesday at Smith Callaway Chapel. Private burial was at The Dalles IOOF Parklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
