The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 15, 1983
     Francis Edward Willits, 75, a resident of The Dalles since 1955, died 
Saturday at his home.
     He was born Oct. 24, 1907 in Seattle.
     Mr. Willits worked as an iron worker in the construction trade until 
retirement.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, The Dalles Eagles Lodge 
and Local 793 of the Ironworkers.
     Survivors include his wife, Cecil W., The Dalles; two sons, Gerald, 
Gresham and Edward, Cascade Locks; four grandchildren; two stepsons, Keith 
Hockman, The Dalles and Noel Hockman, Portland; four step-grandchildren; and 
one brother, Jack Willits, Seattle.
     Funeral services were yesterday (Wednesday) at Spencer, Libby & Powell 
Funeral Home.  Burial will be Saturday in Seattle.
     Memorials are suggested to the Meals on Wheels program.
