Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 21, 2006, 1:15 pm The Dalles Chronicle, March 15, 2006 Vivian Edna Wieland, 86, a former resident of Hood River, died March 9, 2006 in Gresham. She was born May 26, 1919 in Philipsburg, Kan. to Alfred and Elsie (Wolfe) Pendarvis. She moved to Oregon in the early 1920’s and then lived in Texas before returning to Oregon. She lived in Hood River for many years where she worked as a beautician. She was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Her favorite place to vacation was the Oregon coast. She was preceded in death by her four children, Veleda, Jerry, James and Lester and her husband, Sylverster Darr, Herman Guenther and Vance Wieland. She is survived by her nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A remembrance gathering was held Monday, March 13, at Anderson’s Tribute Center.
