Wakley iwakley@msn.com and July 27, 2006, 6:26 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, October 11, 1984 Edward Leo Whitecotton, 52, died Sept. 29 after a sudden illness. He was a lifelong resident of The Dalles area. He was born in Hood River Nov. 26, 1931. He worked as a pipe-layer in the construction industry. He is survived by his wife, Elmary Whitecotton, The Dalles; whom he married in Goldendale, Wash., in April 1952. He is also survived by a son, Roger, and a daughter, Norma, both of The Dalles; 6 grandchildren, TeeSee, Joshua, Angela, Cherina, Clarice, and Luke, The Dalles; a sister, Ruby Nicklin, Pine Grove; and his mother and stepfather, Frank and Dorothy Rowe, Portland. Funeral services were at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home Wednesday with Bishop Sidney Allen officiating. Burial followed at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Rowe, Bill Hatley, Jay Waterbury, Merl Edcert, Jack Osborn, Tom Birtchfield, and Harold Garber.
