The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 7, 1983
     Stanley S. White, 77, a resident of The Dalles for 36 years, died Monday 
at a local nursing home following a long illness.
     He was born July 26, 1915 at Helena, Mont.
     Mr. White was a member of The Dalles Elks Lodge No. 303 and the Fraternal 
Order of Eagles.  He was a veteran of World War II and was a retired postal 
employee.
     Survivors include his wife, Betty, The Dalles; a daughter, Mrs. Kay 
Tenold, The Dalles; and two grandchildren, Rich and Colleen Tenold, also of 
The Dalles.
     Memorial services were today (Thursday) at Smith Callaway Chapel with the 
Elks Lodge conducting the funeral rites.  Private cremation services were in 
Portland.
     Memorials may be made to the Elk's Eye Clinic or to other charities.
