The Dalles Weekly Reminder, June 25, 1982
     Sherman Roger Whitbeck, 71, a resident of The Dalles for the past two and 
one-half years, and formerly a longtime resident of the Hood River area, died 
June 16 at the local hospital.

     He was born Sept. 1, 1910 in Minnesota.

     Mr. Whitbeck was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Church.

     Survivors include his wife, Opal, The Dalles; three sons, Jerry, The 
Dalles, and Montie and Roger, both of Irrigon; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Peggy) 
Deaville, St. Helens, and Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) Gerard, Irrigon; 22 
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Amber Schultz, Hood 
River; Nellie Hudson, Monrovia, Calif., and Katherine Weippert, Santa Monica, 
Calif.

     Memorial services were Wednesday in Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witness 
Church with Don Felker officiating.

     Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
