The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 20, 1987
     Lula M. Westphal, 67, died Feb. 12 in Arroyo Grande, Calif.  She had 
lived in The Dalles since 1942.
     Mrs. Westphal was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Ogalla, Kan.  She was member of 
the First Christian Church and The Dalles Country Club.  She was an avid 
golfer.
     She is survived by her husband, Val Westphal of The Dalles; son, Gregg 
Westphal of Portland; daughter, Valerie Bissett of Milwaukie; five 
grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Morton of Kansas and Irwin Morton of Albany, 
Ore.; four sisters, Marie Jacobs, Eva Coleman, Neva Sefick and Marge Fondoble, 
all of Kansas.
     Services will be held at Smith Callaway Chapel, Friday, Feb. 20, at 2 
p.m. at Smith Callaway Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Coleman officiating.
