The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 8, 1984
     Mildred L. West, 74, died Oct. 28, at her home in Longview, Washington.  
She was a former resident of The Dalles.
     She was born June 23, 1910 at South Bend, Wash.
     She was a graduate of The Dalles High School and Oregon State 
University.  She had lived in the Longview area for 42 years.
     She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
     Survivors are her husband, Jack W. West, Longview; a son, Scott P. West, 
Pullman, Wash.; two sisters Luva Phillips, Denver, Colo. and Frances Starr, 
Klamath Falls; a brother, Max Johns, Portland; four grandchildren and her 
father, Frank M. Johns, Portland.
     Memorial services were at Bethany Lutheran Church and cremation has taken 
place with Steele Funeral Home of Longview in charge of arrangements.  
Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church
