The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 28, 1982
     Ruth Irene Wegener, 88, a resident of The Dalles since 1927, died Sunday 
at her home.
     She was born Sept. 30, 1893 in Montevido, Minn.
     She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Azalea Rebekah Lodge, the 
Degree of Honor and the World War I Veteran's Auxiliary.
     Survivors include a son, Dean Newgard, Silver City, N.M.; three 
grandchildren, Greg Newgard and Karen Mayne, both of Splendora, Tex.; Vaughn 
Newgard, Boise, Idaho, and four great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services were yesterday (Thursday) at Spencer, Libby & Powell 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Egerton Long officiating.  Entombment followed at 
The Dalles IOOF Memorial Mausoleum.
