Grace "Alice" Wassenmiller Obituary Surnames: Wassenmiller, Sherman, Dawson Grace "Alice" Wasenmiller, 90, a resident of The Dalles, died in Keizer (Oregon) on Saturday, January 25, 2003. She was born May 18, 1912, in White Fish, Montana, the youngest of four children to Rollin Gat and Maude Ione (Sherman) Dawson. Her family moved to The Dalles and Alice graduated from The Dalles High School. She married Reinheardt Wassenmiller on August 23, 1934, in Hood River (Oregon), and they lived in The Dalles. She worked as a beautician and owned and operated the Hilltop Salon at 12th and Dry Hollow Road for many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed her family, arts and crafts and traveling. She is survived by her son, Reinheardt Wassenmiller, Jr. and his wife, Donna, Salem (Oregon); nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in March 1988, and her children, Frederick Wassenmiller and Virginia "Dolly" Wassenmiller. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, from 2 to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. through the services on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, with Reverend Tim Foster officiating. Private entombment will follow at The Dalles IOOF Memorial Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2819 West 10th Street, The Dalles, Oregon 97058.
