She was born on Nov. 19, 1930 in Pontiac, Mich., the youngest of two children to Preston Gutherie and Janey (Finnerty) Miller. She was raised in Guernsey, Wyo. She married Gordon James Neely in 1947 and they lived in Maupin. He died in 1971. She worked as a bookkeeper for Mountain Fir Mill in Maupin for 10 years. On Aug. 8, 1972 she married Lawrence “Marvin” Wall in White Salmon, Wash. They travel extensively with Marvin’s work until his retirement in the 1980’s. They settled in Sequim, Wash., until the mid 1990’s, when they moved to Dufur and later to The Dalles. She was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed crosswords, cooking, reading, bird watching, dancing and listening to Big Band music and visiting with her family and friends. She is survived by her two children, John A. and his wife Carol Neely of McMinnville, Brenda L. Hood of The Dalles; three stepchildren, Larry Wall, Bend; Bradley Wall, Texas; and Marla and her husband Doug Macnab, The Dalles; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren. No public services will be held. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory with Spencer Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
