He was born July 1, 1943, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to James C. Walker and Berneice (Marble) Walker. He grew up in Sacramento and Portland. He married Sheryll Jeanne Crone on Dec. 2, 1966, in White Salmon, and they lived there for about 30 years before moving to The Dalles in 1995. Because Mr. Walker valued life through experience and learning opportunities, he had numerous jobs/careers throughout his life. Most recently, he owned and operated his pest control business, Bug Worx. Mr. Walker was known for his integrity, wisdom, and strength. He valued family and friendship and enjoyed a variety of interests including music. He is survived by his wife Sheryll; daughter Kelly Walker; son, Kevin (K.C.) Walker and his wife, Ellen; two grandsons and one step-granddaughter, John A. Grant IV, Talon C. Walker, and Melanie Brown, all of The Dalles. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. An open memorial gathering and potluck will be held at Northwestern Lake near White Salmon on August 16 at 2 p.m..
