Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 16, 2006, 10:23 pm The Dalles Chronicle, November 9, 2005 Henry “Hank” Wageman, 87, a resident of The Dalles, died of lung cancer at his home on Nov. 6, 2005. He was born in Wing, N.D. on Nov. 27, 1917, the eighth of 13 children to Adolph and Magdalena Wagemen. The family moved by wagon to the west, settling in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. He married Joyce Votendahl in 1944. They had three sons, Glen, Henry and Roger. They were divorced in the late 1950s. He continued working at farming. He married Connie Brown in the 1960s and they had two sons, Grant and Gary. He and his second wife lived in Twin Falls and Filer, Idaho, then in 1966 they moved to The Dalles. They lived on Threemile Road and worked for Stadelman Orchards for 13 years. After he retired from Stadelman’s, they moved into town. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his sons, Glen, Henry, Roger, Grant and Gary and their wives; his stepchildren, Larry, Dennis and their wives, Judy and her husband, Randy; his sister, Maggie Wilcox; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step- great-grandchildren. An afternoon of remembrance for him will be held at the family home, 3800 W. Sixth St., Space 27, on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge.
