The Dalles Chronicle, December 8, 2005
     Franklyn Charles Vogt, 72, a resident of Tygh Valley, died at his home 
Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005.
     He was born on Jan. 13, 1933, in Wanblee, S.D., the fifth of seven 
children to Mike and Ethyl Vogt. He grew up in Minnesota, moved to Washington 
and came to Oregon in 1963. 
     He joined the U.S. Navy in March 1950. He served on the U.S. Gordius and 
received medals for good conduct and national defense. He was discharged from 
the Navy with an honorable discharge in 1953.
     He married Mabel Mae Roberts on May 26, 1973 in Virginia City, Nev. 
They made their home in Tygh Valley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, clam 
digging, camping, rock hunting and gardening. 
     He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mabel Vogt, Tygh Valley; his four 
children Gloria Dvorak, Beaverton; Mona and her huband David Teal, Madras; 
Frank Jr. and his wife Michelle, Kisse Mills, Mo.; Cyndie and her husband Sid 
Moss, Tygh Valley; a brother, Don Vogt and his wife Lorraine, Yuma, Ariz; a 
sister, Donna and her husband, Edgar Rudy, Park Rapids, Minn.; a brother-in-
law, Lloyd Roberts, Bend; a sister-in-law Mary Lou Carter and husband Dan, 
Mitchell; a brother-in-law Dale Roberts and wife Becky, Maupin; a brother-in-
law Willis Roberts and wife Patricia, Prineville. 
     At the family’s request, no services will be held.
     Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Smith 
Calloway Chapel in care of arrangements.
     Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The 
Dalles, OR 97058, or South Wasco Ambulance, PO Box 125, Maupin, OR 97037.
