The Dalles Chronicle, October 13, 2005
     Lucetta Alden Vogt, 94, a resident of The Dalles died at the local 
hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005.
     She was born July 27, 1911, in St. Paul, Minn., the oldest of three 
daughters to John Maurice and Laura (Richardson) Alden. She grew up in St. 
Paul, and attended the University of Minnesota for two years.
     She married Dr. Paul Reuter Vogt on Feb. 26, 1938, in Denver, Colo. He 
preceded her in death in 2000.
     She was a homemaker, member of Chapter BF, P.E.O., The Dalles Country 
Club, former member of AAUW and the Hospital Auxiliary. She helped start the 
gift shop at the hospital in 1959. She also enjoyed handwork, bridge, 
traveling and caring for her family and home.
     She and Dr. Vogt established a charitable trust sponsoring scholarships 
at The Dalles High School, Columbia Gorge Community College and OHSU Medical 
School. The trust also provides funds for St. Mary’s School.
     She is survived by her son, Paul Robert Vogt, Portland; her daughter, 
Dorothy Anne Bialous and her husband, Paul, The Dalles; grandchildren, Debra 
and Bob Hilt, Forks, Wash.; Roger and Sue Bialous, Seattle, Wash., and Laura 
Bialous, Maui, Hawaii; great grandchildren, Raven Hilt, Jesse and Cindy 
Macklin, all of Forks; her sisters, Bessimae Reed, Camden, Maine.; several 
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Priscilla Jewett.
     Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 15, at The Dalles 
St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. Todd Unger as celebrant. Interment will 
follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
