Surnames: Johnson, Vetterlein, Macy, Hooper, MacDougall, Brune Carolyn "Kay" (Johnson) Vetterlein, 86, died on March 3, 2003. She was born November 26, 1916 in Wasco (Oregon). She married Raymond H. Vetterlein in 1945. He died in 1986. She earned a BS degree from the University of Oregon and was a graduate of the Good Samaritan Hospital School of nursing program. She was a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene (Oregon). She was an avid bridge player at Summerfield Retirement Community. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and was chapter president of the A.O.R.N. (Association of Operating Room Nurses). She had lived in Portland until 1957 when she moved to Eugene. She retired in 1981. Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Macy, Culver (Oregon); Susan Hooper, West Linn (Oregon); Carol MacDougall, Bend (Oregon); and Kathleen Brune, Redmond (Oregon); a brother, Gordon Johnson, Hillsboro (Oregon); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Rolland Johnson, of Wasco. A memorial gathering will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Finley Sunset Hills Chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
