The Dalles Weekly Reminder,  March 20, 1987
     Grace Tibbets Van Matre, a resident of The Dalles since 1922, died in The 
Dalles March 15.  She was 80.
     Mrs. Van Matre was born March 28, 1906, in Nampa, Idaho.  She was a 
member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Mill Creek Grange, Rebekah Lodge and the 
Quinette Club.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Tibbets in 1963 
and Marion Van Matre in 1978, as well as a son, Lester Tibbets in 1964.
     Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor 
Delmer Anderson, and followed by entombment at The Dalles Odd Fellows Memorial 
Mausoleum.  Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in charge of 
arrangements.
