The Dalles Weekly Reminder, October 23, 1987
     Helen M. Vana, 94, died in The Dalles Oct. 14.  She was a resident of the 
area.
     Mrs. Vana was born Dec. 8, 1892 in Krok, Wisc.  She was a member of the 
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Joseph.
     She is survived by Mrs. Lucille Hodges of The Dalles; a brother Joe 
Rabick of Stafford, Ore; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
     Graveside services were held in Portland at the Lincoln Memorial 
Cemetery.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
