She was born May 25, 1943, in Chicago to Dorothy Marshall. Her grandparents, Mary and William Marshall, were a strong presence in her life, along with her mother. She grew up in Summit, Ill., and graduated from Argo High School in 1961. She worked as a secretary at Reynolds Metals before marrying Leroy Joe Ursprung on Oct. 5, 1964. They sang country music together in Illinois State with Don Barnett and the NuJays and Billy G, but she was mostly a stay-at-home mom. They moved with their four children to Flagstaff, Ariz., in 1978, where she worked at the Arizona Daily Sun for several years. She moved to The Dalles with her son, Rick, in 1994. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed puzzles and scrapbooking, and loved unicorns, waterfalls and wolves. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, grandfather, mother and husband. She is survived by her children Becky Brown, Wenatchee, Wash.; Lindy Elliott, Jones, Okla.; Rick Ursprung, The Dalles; Bonnie Leigh Ursprung, Greenbrier, Tenn.; six grandchildren: Samantha Elliott, Crystal Bawiga, Amanda Shaver, Matthew Brown, Megan Privatt and Gypsie White; a sister, Sandra Behrens, Marquette, Mich.; a brother, Thomas Pach, Joliet, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request, no services will be held. Spencer, Libby and Powell is in care of arrangments.
