The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 18, 1987
Irene Underhill, 74, died Sept. 10 at a local nursing home.  She was a 
resident of The Dalles since 1955, formerly of Omak, Wash.

Mrs. Underhill was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Liberal, Kans.  She worked as a 
seamstress for Tony's Town and Country and Gordon's in The Dalles before 
retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce E. Underhill, and a son, Carl 
Denney.

She is survived by her daughter, Lela Webb Dooley of Goldendale; stepsons, 
Edwin Underhill of The Dalles and Gene Underhill of Dufur; brother, Virgil 
Davis of Toledo, Wash.; four sisters, Fern Pishion of The Dalles, Eva Jesse of 
Bremerton, Myrle Denney of Mt. Home, Arkansas and Runice Cooper of Manson, 
Wash.; 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; numerous nieces.

Services were held at the IOOF Cemetery officiated by Pastor Asa Jenson.  
Arrangements are in care of Smith Callaway Chapel.
