Tyndall III. 68, a resident of Glenwood, Wash., died on Sunday Feb. 20 in Yakima. He was born on May 19, 1936 in Lapwai, Idaho to Christoper Tyndall Jr. and Dorothy Lyon Tyndall. He was a member of the Omaha Tribe in Macy, Neb. He spent his early years in Owyhee, Nev. and he attended school at Carson City. He served in the US Navy from 1954 through 1958 and was married to Mary Hernandez in 1958. He worked at the Stewart Indian School in Stewart, Nev. until 1981 when the family moved to Glenwood where he was employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Yakama Tribe until his retirement last year. He was a professional model builder of trains and boats and had served with the Glenwood Fire Dept as assistant Chief and was a member of the Yakama Warriors Association. He was a member of the Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife Mary, Glenwood; two daughters, Suzanne Wilkin and husband Steve, Glenwood; and Cynthia Tyndall, Goldendale; two sons Mark and spouse Jill, Salem, Mike and spouse Libby, Virginia Beach, Va.; his stepmother Patricia Tyndall of Carson City; two stepbrothers, Whitney Brown, Reno, and Raymond Brown of San Francisco; five grandchildren, Christopher M., Rachel D., Kaylene E., Mia A. and Marquis S. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Joann. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Glenwood School Gymnasium with Pastor Sandy Strait officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Erdman Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Goldendale.
