     Kenneth Neil Twidwell, 56, a resident of The Dalles died Monday, Jan. 19, 
2004 of complications from pneumonia.
     He was born June 28, 1947 in La Grande, the oldest of three children to 
Marvin and Lorraine (Novak) Twidwell. He graduated from La Grande High School 
in 1965. He joined the National Guard and worked various jobs in the La Grande-
Baker City area. He started with the Oregon Department of Transportation in 
the early 1970’s. He worked in La Grande, Medford, Prospect and The Dalles, 
where he retired in 1988. He then took the best job of his life as a “stay at 
home Dad.”
     He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing anything and everything with his 
family. He was always working on some building project with two or more in the 
works. He was an active member of The Dalles Rifle and Pistol Club where he 
helped with the Women’s Hand Gun and Hunter Safety Education Classes. He took 
great pride and joy in sharing his passion for the sport.
     He is survived by his “best friend” and wife Juli Ann (Holman) Twidwell; 
his two daughters Stephani Ann (22) and Ranay Lynn (21) of The Dalles; his 
parents Marvin and Lorraine Twidwell; his two sisters Karen Smith, and Kathie 
and her husband Bob Grove all of La Grande.
     A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 at Mid-
Columbia Senior Center at 11 a.m. A memorial service in La Grande is being 
planned for a later date.
     Memorial donations in his name may be made to the following programs: The 
Ken Twidwell Sport Shooting Education Fund, c/o The Dalles Rifle and Pistol 
Club, P.O. Box 640, The Dalles, Oregon 97058 or The National Kidney 
Foundation, P.O. Box 15149, Portland, Oregon 97293. Arrangements are by 
Columbia Cremation & Burial.
