The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 26, 1984
Laura Trites, 100, died Monday, July 23, at the Oregon-Washington Pythian Home 
in Vancouver, Wash, where she lived for 11 years.

Mrs. Trites was born Laura Baggot in Brown County, Miss., on June 16, 1884.  
She moved to The Dalles in 1922, from Bend, and became a member of the Pythian 
Sisters, Temple 5 in The Dalles.  She received her 50-year jewel pin from the 
Pythians before moving to Vancouver in 1973.  She was a member of Zion 
Lutheran Church in The Dalles.

Her husband, Clay Trites died in The Dalles in 1939.  There are no known 
surviving family members.

Graveside services will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in The Dalles today, 
Thursday, 11:30 a.m.  The Rev. Delmar Anderson will officiate.
