Thomsen, 82, died at a local hospital April 5. He was a lifelong residentof the Mid-Columbia area. Mr. Thomsen was born Nov. 26, 1904, in Grass Valley. He grew up in the Antelope area, living there until 1932, when he moved to the Hood River area. In Hood river, he farmed and worked at the Bonneville Dam and later the Inland Navigation Company. He worked at Harvey Aluminum after that until his retirement. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the IOOF Lodge, the Chenowith Grange, The Dalles Eagles Lodge and the Old Wasco County Pioneer Association. He is survived by his wife, Lucille of The Dalles, who he married in 1926; two sons, Art and Fred, both of The Dalles; a daughter Bonnie Fogarty of Portland; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Huffman of The Dalles and three brothers, Oscar of Corvallis, Leamon of Hermiston and Millard of Burns. Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church, officiated by the Rev. Del Anderson. Burial followed at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mid-Columbia Senior Center or the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
