Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 30, 2006, 1:22 pm The Dalles Chronicle, August 10, 2006 Anna Marie Thompson died in Keizer on Aug. 6, 2006. She was the first born of Blanche Lewis and James A. Thompson in Rupert, Ida. She was a high school and business college graduate, with extended art and accounting classes throughout her life and career. She was a longtime Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs employee, retiring after more than 30 years in the accounting department. She found a whole new extended family at ODVA. Her hobbies included painting, crocheting, crafts, travel, cruises, movies and, most of all, her family and friends. She is survived by her father, James A Thompson; her brothers Jim (June), The Dalles; Jay (Theresa), Port Angles, Wash.; sister Lola (Bruce) Thompson- Hanson, Salem, and Ruby Lee Thompson, The Dalles; two special nephews, Jeremy (Megan) and Joshua Thompson, both of The Dalles; many ODVA’s and Jan Ree Ward, extended family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Blanche and sister, Hazel Jean. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center. Internment was held in The Dalles at the IOOF Cemetery on Threemile Road at 1 p.m. on Aug. 10. Arrangements were made by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
