The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 9, 1987
Jerald Sherman Thiesen, a resident of The Dalles for 20 years, died Jan. 4 in 
Portland at the age of 65.

Mr. Tiesen was born June 9, 1921, in Lyons, Indiana.  He was a member of The 
Dalles Eagles Lodge, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Thiesen of The Dalles; four sons, 
Gordon of Aurora, Marshall of Yakima, Tom and Dave, both of Kankakee, Ill.; 
four daughters, June of Ohio, Suzanne of Pudica, Ill., and Rita and Donna, 
both of Kankakee, Ill.

Funeral services were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home with the 
Rev. Karl Vercouteren officiating, followed by burial at Parklawn Cemetery.  
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
