The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 5, 1988
     John Taylor, Sr., 70, died at The Dalles Jan. 29.  He was a resident of 
Wasco for the last three years.
     Mr. Taylor was born July 4, 1917.  He owned and operated two repair shops 
and two restaurants in Fruitland, Idaho.  He was a member of the Church of 
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in The Dalles.
     He is survived by his wife, Florence of Wasco; two daughters, Rachel 
LaCell of Ontario and Carol Elliot of Ontario; a son, John, of Vancouver; two 
sisters; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day 
Saints in The Dalles officiated by Bishop Steven Thompson and followed by 
private interment at Wasco Sunrise Cemetery.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in 
charge of arrangements.
