The Dalles Weekly Reminder, June 28, 1984
     Barbara D. Taylor, 48, died Tuesday at Mid-Columbia Medical Center.  She 
was a resident of Tygh Valley.

     She was born Feb. 22, 1936 in Bozeman, Mont.

     Survivors include her husband, Larry L., Tygh Valley; three sons, James 
B. Shanklin, Tygh Valley, Robert J. Shanklin, Portland; and Anthony W. 
Shanklin, Ft. Lewis, Wash.; two daughters, Cassandra L. George, Barrington, 
N.H., and Elizabeth Taylor, Tygh Valley; her father, Robert L. Stephens, Yuma, 
Ariz.; her mother, Mrs. Dan Whipple, The Dalles; a sister, Betty Marion, The 
Dalles; four grandchildren; three nephews and two nieces.

     At her request no funeral service was held.  Private cremation was in 
Portland.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.

     Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
