The Dalles Chronicle, March 8, 2006
     Norman L. Swords, 58, died in Milwaukie on March 3, 2006.
     He was born in Burns on April 5, 1947 to James and Nettie (Gregg) Swords.
     He graduated from Port Orford High School in 1965 and worked in the auto 
parts business prior to moving to Philomath, where he worked as a log scaler 
until 1996.
     He married Annabell in 1975.
     Survivors include three brothers, James, Pendleton; Robert, Burns, and 
Dave Hackney, Pendleton; and two sisters, Edie Gaede, Nett Rysdan and Kathy 
Hackney of The Dalles.
     Private burial will be at Mt. Union Cemetery in Philomath. Arrangements 
are by McHenry Funeral home of Corvallis.
