Surnames: Sumner, Eidson, Pittsinger, Tressie Pauline Sumner, 91, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local hospital on Monday, May 12, 2003. She was born March 5, 1912, in McPherson County, Arkansas, the 11th of 13 children to Frank Monroe and Mattie Belle (Eidson) Pittsinger. The family moved and lived in Delta, Colorado in 1916. She married Victor R. Sumner on November 5, 1932, in Moab, Utah and they lived in Colorado until moving to Wenatchee, Washington. In 1938, they moved to Ellensburg, Washington and in 1952, they moved to The Dalles. She worked at the downtown Payless Store and later became a housekeeper. She enjoyed her family, homemaking and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Robert V. and Chris Sumner; Dwayne and Carol Sumner, of The Dalles; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; good friends and care givers, Ana, Miguel, Felice, and Miguel Vega Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor and two daughters, Beverly and Shirley. Graveside services will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 with Asa Jenson officiating. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
