The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 8, 1995
     Juleen Mary Summers, 70, Wasco, died at her home, following a lengthy 
illness, on Nov. 29, 1995.
     She was born June 30, 1925 in Martin, N.D. to Joseph H. and Margaret E. 
Wirtzfeld.  She graduated from Sanish High School in North Dakota and moved to 
Seattle in 1943.  She married John W. Summers in 1946, and they came to the 
Gorge in the early 1950s, settling in Wasco in 1963.
     She became active in St. Mary's Catholic Church and belonged to the Altar 
Society.  She and her husband owned and operated the Holiday Mobile Home Park.
     She is survived by her son, James Summers, Boring; her daughter, Joette 
Iryzk, Wasco; seven grandchildren; brother, Gordon Wirtzfeld of Dothan, Ala.; 
and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, 
Eleanor Robison, and her brother, Roy Wirtzfeld; and her husband, John, who 
died in August 1992.
     Rosary and memorial mass were Dec. 2 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 
Wasco, the Rev. Anselm Fister as celebrant.
     Private cremains interment was at Wasco Sunrise Cemetery.
     Memorials:  St. Mary's Catholic Church, sent in care of Smith Callaway 
Chapel, 311 Union, The Dalles.
