Wakley iwakley@msn.com and July 23, 2006, 2:15 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 29, 1987 Charles A. Sullivan, 72, died in The Dalles May 22. He had lived here for 12 years. Mr. Sullivan was born in Rego, Kansas Sept. 28, 1915. He and his wife, Evelyn, were married for 50 years, since April 27, 1936. They farmed in New Mexico until 1952 when Mr. Sullivan began working for the Atomic Energy Commission in the Pacific N.W. For years, they ranched in the Wamic area, moving to The Dalles in 1975. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as enjoying gardening with flowers and vegetables. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Josie Evelyn Sullivan; four children, Wilma Akin of Bothell, Wash., Mary Knapp of Colville, Wash., Charles W. Sullivan of So. Weber, Utah, and LeeRoy Sullivan of Boise, Ida.; four brothers, Travis Sullivan of Kansas, Earl Sullivan of Delia, New Mexico, John Sullivan of Alburquerque, New Mex. and Carl Sullivan of Downey, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Dent of Calif. and Jean Snead of Montana; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in The Dalles, followed by graveside interment at I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Pastor Bobby Joe Beauchamp officiated. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society, in care of Smith Callaway Chapel.
