     Merriann Jackie Strege, 52, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local 
hospital on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003.
     She was born Jan. 25, 1951, in Fairfield, Idaho, the youngest of five 
children to Raymond and Irene (Krause) Strege. Her family moved to Gooding, 
Idaho in 1955, where she graduated from Gooding High School in 1969.
     After graduation, she moved to Portland and was employed as a secretary 
until she moved to The Dalles in 1992.
     She is survived by her fiancé’, Clemente “Lupi” Angeles, The Dalles; her 
brother, Dave Strege and his wife, Debby and their children, Anna, Chris and 
Joseph, The Dalles; sister-in-law, Jane Strege, Portland and her daughter, 
Tamatha and her family; sister-in-law, Cassie Strege and her children, Tessa 
and Lance and their families; nephew, Jeffrey Arriaga, Portland and a brother-
in-law, Chuck, Portland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and 
Hazel, her brothers, Jack and Jim Strege and her sister, Dorothy Jacobson.
     Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, at Spencer, Libby & 
Powell Funeral Home. Private cremation will follow at The Dalles Win-quatt 
Crematory.
     Remembrances may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 553, The 
Dalles, OR 97058
