The Dalles Weekly Reminder, June 25, 1982
     Lester G. Stoop, 77, a resident of The Dalles for the past 41 years, died 
Tuesday at a Portland hospital.

     He was born Sept. 1, 1904 in Elgin.

     Mr. Stoop was a member of First Christian Church, Wasco AF-AM Lodge No. 
15, Operating Engineers Local No. 701 and NARFE.

     Survivors include his wife, Helen, The Dalles; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph 
(Donna) Rupp, Pasco, Wash., and Mrs. Dale (Linda) Taylor, The Dalles; two 
sisters, Pauline Smith, The Dalles, and Wilma Langley, Portland; one brother, 
Alfred Stoop, The Dalles; one half-brother, Orvil Bull, Vancouver, Wash.; five 
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services are today (Friday), 2 p.m. at Spencer, Libby & Powell 
Funeral Home with Ron Coleman officiating.  Burial will follow at Parklawn 
Cemetery.

     Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
