The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 12, 1988
     Alfred G. Stoop, 79, died Feb. 9 in The Dalles.  He had lived here for 27 
years.
     Mr. Stoop was born March 15, 1908.  He was a carpenter for many years.  
He was a member of the Carpenters Union of Eugene, a life member of The Dalles 
Disabled Veterans, a life member of the Portland American Legion.
     He is survived by his wife, Pearl, of The Dalles; a daughter, Barbara 
Chronicle of Sacramento; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two 
sisters including Pauline Smith of The Dalles; a half-brother; several nieces 
and nephews.
     Funeral services were held at Smith Callaway Chapel followed by interment 
at Odd Fellows Parklawn Memorial Garden Veteran's Section.  Pastor Ron Coleman 
officiated.
