The Dalles Weekly Reminder, April 26, 1984
     Leonard Dow Stillwell, 77, a resident of The Dalles since 1971 and 
formerly a resident of Garabaldi from 1941 to 1981, died at the hospital here 
on Friday, April 20.

     He was born June 6, 1906 in Bandon.

     He had worked as a logger in the timber industry all of his life.  He 
served in the U.S. Calvary in 1928 and 1929.

     He is survived by two brothers, Ernest Stillwell, The Dalles; and George 
Stillwell, Sutherlin; a sister, Louise Fouts, Albany; and numerous nieces and 
nephews.

     Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 22, at Arcade Cemetery in 
North Plains, with pastor Perry Wright officiating.  Spencer, Libby and Powell 
was in charge of arrangements.

     Memorials may be made to the Oregon Heart Fund.
