Jan. 7th. Service took place Thursday, Jan. 10 at the Lebanon First Christian Church with Pastor Dave Jensen officiating. Burial was at the Lebanon Odd Fellows Cemetery. Military rites were performed by American Legion Post 51. Huston Funeral Home was in charge. Contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to The Ed Stewart Scholarship Fund at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Ore. 97321. Mr. Stewart was born Dec. 30, 1936 in Harriburg, Ore. He served with the U.S. Navy and had lived in the Lebanon-Albany area since the late 1950s. He was a welding instructor at Linn-Benton Community College for the past 16 years and a member of the Am. Welding Society. He was also a membr of Am. Legion Post 51 and The First Christian Church. He married Bobetta Proctor Dec. 15th, 1979 in Reno, Nev. She is the daughter of Mrs. Verl Fraley of The Dalles and Robert Schilling of Lyle, Wash. Also surviving are four daughters, Jodi Palmer and Teri Johnston of Albany; Sheri Tackett, Demming, N.M. and Barbara Stewart, Glouchester, Mass.; three stepsons, Ted Proctor, Arlington, Ore., Mike Proctor, W. Germany, and Billy Proctor, Lebanon, Ore.; three brothers, Melvin Stewart, Roanoke, Ill., Lafe Stewart, Shelbyville, Ill. and Dan Stewart, Albany; three sisters, Ruth and Mildred Kropf, both of Harrisburg, and Pauline Scheffel, Halsey; and five grandchildren.
