The Dalles Chronicle, March 9, 2006
     Margaret Ann Steinke, 85, a resident of The Dalles, died Thursday, March 
9, 2006 at a local care facility.
     She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Detroit, Mich. to John Sullivan and Delia 
Sullivan. She grew up and completed High School in Detroit.
     She married Otto Steinke in 1943 in San Diego, Calif. They moved to 
Arlington and started their lifelong wheat farming career.
     She was a member of the Arlington Catholic Church, was involved in 
community services, and enjoyed playing cards, bridge, and being with her 
family.
     She is survived by her five children, Larry and his wife Bonnie Steinke, 
The Dalles; Ken and his wife Bev Steinke, Battleground, Wash., Jim and his 
wife Pam Steinke, Terrabonne; Ron Steinke, Hermiston; and Janice Snow, Dufur; 
six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
     Funeral Services will be held at Arlington Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on 
Saturday, March 18, 2006. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of 
arrangements.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of The Gorge, 751 
Myrtle Street, The Dalles, OR 97058; or HELP Community Food Bank in Arlington.
