The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 8, 1984
     Ruff R. Stanton, 100, passed away at the home of his daughter, Eva Hawk, 
in Canoga Park, Calif.

     Mr. Stanton was born in Plymouth County, Iowa, Oct 3, 1884.  He came to 
Gilliam County in 1898 and lived in or near Condon for 38 years.  He left 
Condon to work for 18 years as a carpenter in The Dalles then moved to Redmond 
where he lived for 24 years.  He resided with his daughter since 1978.

     Mr. Stanton's wife Jennie, preceeded him in death in 1962.  He is 
survived by a son Roy, Redmond, a daughter, Violet Wilson, Terrebonne, eight 
grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services took place in Condon, Nov. 26.
