Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 5, 2006, 7:56 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, August 23, 1984 Edgar Wayne Stanley, 59, died after a sudden illness in Idaho, Aug. 18. He resided in Wasco for 15 years. He was born July 20, 1925 in Vinita, Okla. Mr. Stanley was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and had worked as an operating engineer and had moved to Wasco to work in dam construction. He was a member of Saluberia Lodge No. 31, AF&AM, Cambridge, Idaho; Kalam Temple of the Shrine in Lewiston, Idaho; Columbia Commandry, The Dalles; and Locals No. 370 of Spokane and No. 701, Portland, of the Operating Engineers. Survivors include his wife, Glenna Mae, Wasco; two sons, Donald, Irrigon, and Edgar Wayne Stanley Jr., Umatilla; his parents, James Stanley, Topeka, Kan., and Clessia Belle Fruit, Nyssa; and Pete Barnhart, Yakima; and four sisters, Mildred Bellamy, Kan.; Phyllis Frydenberg, Arlington, Texas; Mary Crawford, Jerome, Idaho, and Nadeine Walker, Marsing, Idaho. Funeral services and Masonic Rites were Wednesday at Sunrise Cemetery in Wasco, with the Rev. Ernie Smith and Lewis Gregory officiating. Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
