The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 24, 1984
     Mrs. Hattie Spencer, 95, died Tuesday at a local hospital.  She had been 
a resident of The Dalles since 1964 and prior to that, a resident of Wasco for 
54 years.

     She was born Sept. 5, 1888 at Davenport, Wash.

     She was a member of the Wasco Church of Christ since 1927.  She also was 
a member of the Oregon Wheat League, the Willard Anderson VFW Auxiliary and 
Grass Valley Rebekah Lodge No. 118.

     Survivors include two sons, Eugene S. and Clarence Spencer, both of The 
Dalles; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Howell, The Dalles; four grandchildren, 15 
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Earl 
Winnett, Dayton, Wash.; one cousin and several nieces and nephews.  Her 
husband, Howard, died in 1950.

     Private family funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith 
Callaway Chapel with Pastor Ron Coleman officiating.  Private burial will 
follow at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.

     Memorials may be made to favorite charities.
